Our DMV approved driver education curriculum is designed for both home-schooled and non-home-schooled students, priced at $200+tax. This Virginia online driving course offers at least 30 hours of instruction covering essential topics such as alcohol safety, drug abuse awareness, aggressive and distracted driving, pedestrian and bicycle safety, handicapped parking, fuel-efficient driving practices, motorcycle awareness, and organ and tissue donation awareness, all as required by law. Students must be at least 15 years and 6 months old to enroll in the online driver education course. Anyone choosing to complete the classroom component of the driver's education course online must do so through a DMV licensed driver training school. To fully benefit from this course, students should be able to work independently and feel comfortable using a computer.
Steps to Register for the Virginia ONLINE Driver Education Course:
You can make payment first by clicking on the PAYPAL button and then sign up, or sign up first, complete the course, and then make a secure PayPal payment of the $200 fee for the online course. Please save the email you receive from PayPal as proof of payment to show at the office when picking up your certificate; cash or money order is also accepted at the office on that day. Upon successful sign up, the system will send you an email with all the links and easy steps to follow to complete the course online (please save this email for use until the end of the course). After completing all modules, the system will prompt you to finish the final module and pick up your certificate at our office location.

Test Procedures:
On the day of testing, students must bring the following to the test site:
- Photo identification (DMV issued ID card, school issued ID card, valid passport, or military identification)
- Proof of online payment (PayPal email receipt; we only accept cash payment at the office on the test day)
- If under the age of 18: Please complete your part on both forms, sign and print out Form (DTS 62) and Form (DTS-63) available for download at the end of this page. Additionally, provide proof of completion of the extra 90-minute parent/teen course if you are under 18 and living in Planning District 8 (counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William, and cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Manassas, and Manassas Park).
- If over the age of 18, please complete and sign your part on printed out Form (DTS-63) available for download at the end of this page.
The online driver training school will provide a computer for testing.
If the student is under age 18, he/she will need to show proof of completion of the additional 90-minute parent/teen module, which is part of our DMV approved driver education program. If he/she lives in Planning District 8 (https://www.va-drivercourses.com/pop_ups/planning_districts.php), both the student and his/her parent are required to attend an in-person classroom session.
This 90-minute parent/teen module is TOTALLY FREE for our students who complete our Virginia online driving course, as it is included with our online DTS, so there are no additional fees for you.
Simply finish our online teen driver education course and, upon completion, email or contact us so we can send you the module link to complete before you come to the office to pick up your Driver Education DTS-36 certificate.
